Michael Bradley, son of U.S. skipper Bob Bradley, did mexico for a double en route to another U.S. World Cup qualifying victory in Columbus.

With goals in the 43' and in stoppage time, Bradley almost single handedly (with massive clean sheet help from Tim Howard) set the Yanks packing for South Africa in front of a partisan yet mixed crowd of 23,776 supporters at a rainy Columbus Crew stadium.

The AP reported this week that after Radioshack dropped out, a Mexican newspaper has found a new U.S. corporate sponsor in Blockbuster to help put a voodoo hex on the U.S. national soccer team -- and end Mexico's decade-long losing streak.

Blockbuster stores in mexico City began trading Record newspaper coupons for voodoo-doll likenesses of U.S. soccer players Friday. The back of the dolls' jersey reads, "Gringos."

Steve Goff of the Washington Post reports breaking news on his Soccer Insider insider blog this evening that Jose Francisco Torres, the Texas-born midfielder who has spent the past five years developing in the Pachuca system, has committed to Bob Bradley and the U.S. National team and will be making his way to DC for training camp ahead of the October 11 Cuba match night at RFK.
